  • Fall 2008 Season
Loudoun Youth Volleyball (LYV) continues to exceed expectations with record setting enrollment this year.   LYV has over 900 middle school aged boys and girls participating in one of the area’s hottest sports for the fall 2008 season.  With 15 member schools – and 86 teams – the future of volleyball in Loudoun County certainly looks bright.

    Coaches Training/John Kessel Clinics
In addition to LYV’s own in-house training clinic held at the beginning of each season - LYV proudly presented two well-attended coaching clinics, hosted by NVVA.  These clinics featured USA Volleyball’s Director of Grassroots Program and FIVB certified volleyball instructor John Kessel.   John took our coaches on a quick tour of the volleyball world with some fun videos and drills. John’s unique combination of humor, knowledge, and passion for our sport resulted in a lot of pumped up coaches.  It is our hope that we will get John to return next year to help train not only our new recruits – but our seasoned veterans as well.

    Training DVD
LYV is in the process of distributing a training DVD made by some of LYV’s own.  Expertly led by LYV clinician Driana Pearce – the video features a bunch of LYV alumni engaged in drills that  beginning coaches should find helpful. Coaches should contact their middle school representative if they have not received one yet.  Thanks to the many volunteers who made this training DVD happen.

    New Code of Conduct
LYV has a revised Code of Conduct this year.  Please take the time to read it.  Volleyball and youth sports in general seem to become more competitive every year.  The LYV Board of Directors are trying to remind everyone that our recreation league is just a game meant to be played for fun.   LYV is not in the business of training your child to make their HS team – we are simply trying to expose them to a sport we all love.   While we do support a select team division and promote healthy competition - please remember – it is just a game.

    Game Schedule

    Reminders
